The moment that my oldest child was born, I was amazed at just how much God loved me!! He had entrusted into my care this perfect, beautiful little person. She was my constant companion. As my children grew older, I learned how to 'play' again, how to be silly and laugh out loud at silly things. To giggle and share the 'fun' things of life. I learned all over again how wonderful and entertaining children's books could be. I learned that jumping rope, and playing in creeks were just as much fun as they were when I was small. I learned that everyday chores could be full of joy.
My children's smiles delight me now just as much as they did when they were small. I began to learn what it is to be a mother from being with them. And now I am learning all over again from my grandchildren!!!! Which says once again, you are never to old to learn.
"My daughter introduced me to the soothing luxury of a bubble bath and to the charms of reading out loud and pretending. Her expressiveness has encouraged my own. I find the edges of my personality rounding out..." Angela McBride
TINY TEACHERS
Children are the best teachers in the world. They teach young women how to be mothers, and young men how to be fathers. They teach older men and women how to be grandparents. They even teach other children how to be brothers and sisters.
Think about all the skills children teach people. They teach moms how to be nurses and dads how to be heroes. They teach brothers and sisters how to share, toys, rooms, dreams and cookies. They even teach teachers how to teach in creative and fun ways.
Children teach the world how to love. They teach us to look past a person's skin color right to his or her heart. They teach us how to be honest and open and innocent. And they teach us how to hug and laugh and be enthusiastic.
Children make us keep our promises because they never forget one that we make. They even make us into scientists and professors by asking, "Why!" about everything that moves and many things that don't!
Isn't it interesting that while we are teaching our children to be adults, they are teaching us to be children? That's especially important when we remember that Jesus said," Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14)
(Raising Children by Mary Hollingsworth)
Without children, what a boring, depressing world this would be!!! There would be no infectious giggles, no peek a boo, no patty cake. Who would make older people smile just by walking into the room? There would be no use for toy trains, dolls or tiny bikes. Barney would have no one to hug, there would be no need for Kermit the Frog. Caterpillars would never get petted, and turtles and bunnies would never get to sleep in the house.
Let's face it, without children life would be a drag!!! Children are the essence of Life!! They are God's answer to depression, loneliness and hate. They are Joy and Love Personified!!! God Himself In Tiny Bodies...
"Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven."(Matt.18:3)
This post is dedicated to a very special child... in honor of his birthday

What a beautiful post. Recently I was sitting at my computer and all of a sudden the thought came to me that I miss "my babies". I'm glad they have grown to be loving, talented, God fearing young women, but I do miss the babies they were. Even my grandchildren are no longer babies. Of course they all give me hugs and I would not want to go through those growing up years again, but they were so sweet as babies.
Did you get my email?
May God bless you,
AliceE.
Blessings Sharon...Techno Nana!!!
This was such a beautiful post!
How honoring to children! I so agree from my teaching years that
"children are the best teachers in the world". Happy birthday to the ONE you are honoring!
Thank you for visiting my post!
I have a very special friend in SC also that works with the Migrants.
I honored her with the Arte y Pico

I was interested in your Mary Bible study...I'm going back to check it out! I'm out of touch with most of the current resources so the blog world keeps me abreast
I love what you said that while we are teaching them to be adults, they are teaching us to be children. I am learning with my grandchildren to let them be children and not rush them into adulthood.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and your very sweet words of encouragement. It was a blessing.
That's just beautiful, Sharon.
That was wonderful! What a true gift our children are. We do learn so much from our little ones. Please drop by my blog. You have been tagged.

Thanks for the comment you left on my blog. I thought I would come over here to check yours out and it is wonderful. The things you wrote about children really hit a cord in me. I never thought of them as being the cure for things like depression, but it is true.
That was so lovely! Not sure if you intended it this way, but your post and song goes perfectly together.
Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed my visit as well!
That's beautiful. Yes, grandchildren are truly a gift from God.

Hi, Techno-Nana Sharon! Thanks a lot for dropping by my site. I enjoyed staring at your family's pic slideshow. You sure have a beautiful family. Yes, children give us license to be a child again. I am reborn! I enjoy dancing now more than ever. Happy Nana life!:D {hugs}
Oh, so sweet! And so true, every word. Children are one of life's best joys....Remmeber what Jesus said, about how a woman goes through pain in childbirth, but that the pain is forgotten at the joy of bringing a child into this world....
He knew....He knows........How great is our Lord!
Just stopped by to see if you had talked with your son-in-law about the slideshow. I have tried to figure it out but can't. This one has me puzzled.
Thanks,
AliceE.
Just wanted you to know I got the slideshow on my sidebar. It took a while but I finally figured it out.
Thanks,
AliceE.
Oh my goodness, I couldn't agree more! I have always thought there must be children in Heaven because how could it be Heaven without babies?!
Lovely post Sharon, as always!
Kathy
